Waikotikoti Wharekai

This total renovation of the Waikotikoti Marae commenced with the wharenui restoration. It included a new wharekai (dining room) and a new 90m2 ablution facility and was delivered on time and in budget.

As the principal builder and project manager, Xcel was responsible for all subcontractor management including plumbers, electricians, drain layers and gas fitters. 

They led the design and coordination of architect involvement. Xcel delivered cladding, framing, insulation, roofing, installation of water and septic systems, new wooden joinery, forecourt / pathways and new carpets. 

Xcel worked closely with the client on this project to design a solution that achieved the budget requirements of the funding available, and to identify solutions that provided a more cost-effective outcome, for example alternative materials and finishes.
